A few years ago, after almost 20 years working in the corporate Procurement field, I looked at my upcoming birthday and assessed my life. I wasn't doing what I loved and decided it was time to pursue my passion. Having a career in real estate is what I've always wanted to do. Who do you know that played Realtor with their Barbie dolls? What child got excited about reading the Sunday paper not for the comics but to check out the new homes section to see the floor plans and read about all of the new neighborhoods? I did. When any of my family or friends had a question about finding their next apartment or house, I was the one they always called and wanted to come with them, because they knew I'd have the right questions to ask and could point out the pros and cons to them. A look at my DVR would look like a HGTV lineup of all their real estate centric shows. I live, love and breathe Real Estate in everything I do.
Why would I make a good representative to either a buyer or seller? Skills my previous corporate experience has given me are very applicable to my new career. In the past I've worked out international contracts and been trusted to negotiate multimillion dollar purchases. Representing the interests of my employer to secure them the best deals, on their terms is what I've done since college. And, it's what I still do - except now I get the added bonus of helping people find the home of their dreams while doing my dream job.
