While some may joke that he is the "dinosaur" in the business due to his decades of hard work and keen professional insight to the local and global real estate market, Hedley considers his experience and his long-curated network of industry experts, vendors, and clients past and present to be his greatest assets. Though the real estate industry has undergone many changes throughout Hedley's long career, one unwavering constant has been the stellar feedback he has received from buyers and collaborators who appreciate Hedley's focus, diligence, and determination to make the client's experience happy and gratifying.
After getting his real estate license while at UT Austin, Hedley put himself through school selling residential real estate and hasn't looked back. In 1991, Hedley opened Karpas Properties which, according to the 2007 Houston Business Journal, became Houston's fourth largest independent real estate brokerage, with a sales team of more than 60 full-time associates. Karpas Properties soon demanded the attention of trailblazing Houston real estate icon Martha Turner and the companies merged. This allowed Hedley to retire his management duties and return to his true first calling: working directly with clients to buy and sell their homes.
Thanks to his respected history and ability to adapt with the times, Hedley has since conducted over 300 million dollars in sales volume at the company, now named Martha Turner Sotheby's International Realty, where he is a member of the Circle of Excellence and has reached Top Producer status, both in the company and city-wide, for the last 10 years. Make no bones about it, this "dinosaur" continues to leave an indelible and enduring footprint on the Houston real estate scene.
