"It's impossible to be in the country and be in a bad mood at the same time!" After leaving a 40-year career in banking in Houston, Lila joined Round Top Real Estate in late 2011. Lila is a native Houstonian and a graduate of the University of Houston. She has strong lifelong ties to the Round Top area and loves and appreciates all Round Top has to offer. Lila's great grandparents emigrated from Germany and settled in northern Fayette County. Her parents and grandparents were born and lived in the Round Top area. She is proud to now own a part of her grandparent's farm. Lila's husband, Barton, was born in Burton and grew up in the La Bahia community. They have one son, Phillip Brau Garlin, a graduate of the University of Kansas, who lives and works in Houston. Since Barton's retirement from Chevron Corporation, they have ranched on the family properties. The La Bahia property has been continuously owned by the family and kept in agricultural operation since the early 1870s, gaining it the proud recognition as a State of Texas Family Land Heritage property — a "Century Farm." Lila's history of the area and her love for this part of Texas gives her a unique perspective to share with her clients. Lila enjoys her association with several local organizations — The Sons of Hermann Round Top Lodge #151, the Round Top DYD Club, the Carmine Lions Club, the Republican Women of Fayette County, the La Bahia Turn Verein, the Navidad Valley Cattle Women, the Carmine Chamber of Commerce and the Walhalla Homemakers Club. 2024 marks Ruth Ann's 22nd year in the real estate profession. She is a seventh-generation Texan and fourth-generation Houstonian and began her real estate career at John Daugherty, Realtors and Greenwood King Properties in Houston. She has strong family ties to the Round Top area and grew up spending time with relatives in Fayette County. Ruth Ann and her husband, Stephen, decided Round Top would be the ideal place to raise their three daughters. She received her B.A. in English from The University of the South (Sewanee) in Tennessee, graduating with Distinction. She is currently a member of the Round Top Chamber of Commerce, The Round Top DYD Club, and The Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce. She is actively involved as a church and school volunteer.

Helen's real estate roots run deep.Her family has been in real estate development for over fifty years. She has always taken an active part in the business. Helen got her license in 1976 and her first experience was with a Houston home-builder. When her husband's company transferred him to Corpus Christi she joined a commercial company. When they returned to Houston she joined John Daugherty Realtors as the Farm and Ranch manager. That gave Helen and her husband Fred the excuse to become full time residents of Washington County. They moved to their family farm in Chappell Hill in 1992 and have been an active part of that community. When Daugherty closed his Farm and Ranch division Helen commuted to Houston for several years to go back into commercial real estate. She changed directions when the opportunity presented itself and joined a local green house grower in Brenham and was in management for several years… She decided to somewhat retire and just handle family business until Cathy Cole encouraged her to join Heritage Texas Country Properties. Helen says you just cannot get real estate out of your blood. Helen and Fred have been married for over fifty years and he is retired from oil and gas exploration. They have two grown sons,a wonderful daughter-in-law and two terrific grandchildren.

She co-owned a business that bred, raised, sold and exhibited nationally renowned cutting horses. In 2005, in tandem with her real estate career, she successfully developed a retail store in Brenham (Ranch Antiques) which she sold in 2010.

Graduating with a BBA in finance from the University of Texas, Stephanie met her future husband, Bryan, on campus. Three daughters later, Stephanie decided to attend Texas A&M University and earn her certification as a Master Florist. For 15 years, she ran her wedding and event floral design company, Flora Bella Designs. Stephanie knows how important it is to listen to and understand her clients' wants and needs and to work diligently to achieve their goals.
