I've only seen two in custom homes and they were done by request only. Not sure how safe they are or how long they last.

Hi Shannon,
It is a nice gadget to have, usually people shy away from it because a very basic attic door is much cheaper.
There is nothing wrong in buying it if you can afford it.

I haven't personally but I have seen door protectors that prevent someone from opening the door.
