I noticed you haven't closed out your question and wondered if you gained the proper understanding you were looking for. HAR is Houston's portion of the MLS (Multiple Listing Service) for Real Estate Agents which also includes an interactive public website for consumers to view and search for homes as well as see information about the homes. When a home is sold, you will not be able to specifically search it out on an HAR.com home search any longer, however it can still be seen forever. A couple of ways this is possible is by searching either of the REALTORS involved in the transaction on HAR.com and viewing their "recently sold" homes (if they have enabled this feature on their site) or by simply "googling" the street address. When you type in the address in a Google.com search you will see that the property comes up on multiple different websites still to be able to view it. Sold listings are always searchable and viewable by REALTORS on their side of the MLS (HAR). Generally speaking a SOLD listing will continue to be in the har system 10+ yrs...that could change though as har increases it's data and keeps it active for a longer period.

The sold property archive is available to Realtors always. A Realtor can email a link to any sold data to their client at any time upon request.
On the public facing MLS of HAR.com the sold property data is no longer accessible the moment the status changes to "sold".
However, consumers can have access to all sold data if they link their HAR account to their Realtor.
You can also request your Realtor up a Market Insight account for you, and with that you will be emailed a market activity report that includes rich data and statistics for a given area(s) on a regular basis.
