Not crazy at all. Agent contribution is not illegal. Is a selling, numbers, and negotiation game. A lot of agent actually invests in many thing to get buyer and listing. Example some agent come out of pocket to stage the home for the seller not knowing if is going to sale or not and there is a monthly cost every month that agent has to pay to furnish his/her listing. Even if you have the seller representation sign it can always be terminated if the buyer is not happy to work with the agent they will not choose that agent.
