Top 6 Appliances That Use the Most Gas

A very good Thursday morning to you and welcome! In conversation with a first time home buyer yesterday (8/16), I was asked which item did I think used the most gas at home. Although it was not something I thought of before, I decided to do a bit of research to find out. Below are the top six items that consumes the most gas in and around the home. Of course, usage will depend on climate and the size of your home. But, you can always take steps to reduce usage/cost should you choose to.

  1. Heating
  2. Water heater
  3. Pool heater
  4. Hot tub
  5. Cooking
  6. Clothes dryer

Now, to help reduce your monthly cost during the winter months for example, you may start by decreasing your thermostat temperature when no one is home. And, as always, make sure your home is properly insulated. A smart thermostat should aid in your goal as well. And don't forget about energy efficient appliances.

If it matters to you, it matters to us. We are always looking out for your best interest. As always, thank you so much for stopping by, and remember, if you are thinking of purchasing your new home, or selling an existing one, please give us a call. We are here to help.
